- Oversee the operations and programmes of the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT)
- Appoint Sector Committees on Vocational Qualifications.
- Monitor and evaluate implementation of the Uganda Qualification Framework.
- Approve appropriate regulations and guidelines for issuance of vocational qualifications by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
